• The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Health at Malla Reddy Medical College for Women aims to evolve into a recognized centre of excellence in mental health by providing comprehensive and best services that help people to enhance their mental health and overall quality of life.

MISSION:

• The department’s goal is to raise awareness in importance of mental health among UG and PG students and also uses modern methods for research and psychopharmacological interventions to train its students. The students undergo training in several psychiatric procedures, such as electroconvulsive therapy, biofeedback, and ketamine therapy. The department offers a range of psychotherapies, where postgraduate students receive training, such as insight-oriented therapy, MET, DBT, alcoholism anonymous, family counselling, marriage therapy, and CBT. Department actively engages with the community with its various awareness and outreach programmes.
• With the goal of enhancing the mental health of every child and adolescent, the department offers assistance to parents, carers, and other family members by support services and emergency management. We specialize in treating mental illnesses such as mood, anxiety, sleep, and psychosexual disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric population. We are also dedicated in providing an effective treatment for patients to recover from substance addiction. Excellent liaison services with all medical and surgical departments are available round the clock.
